The first KCA National Specialty was held in Reno, Nevada in 1993. To date, there have been 17 KCA National Specialties. Breeders and owners alike bring their best dogs to compete for the coveted title of “Best In Specialty Show” winner. Szumeria has bred and/or owned dogs that have won Best of Breed at 11 of these KCA Nationals, an achievement unmatched by any other Kuvasz Kennel to date.

Why is this important to you? You want a beautiful, structurally sound and healthy family companion. The AKC provides a mechanism where independent judges, who have passed rigorous criteria established by the AKC, can evaluate the breeding stock of individual Kennels.

AKC Rules Applying to Dog shows states “Competition in conformation and performance events can best demonstrate the progress that has been made in breeding for type and quality, and/or for practical use, stamina and obedience.” Conformation dog shows “are intended to evaluate breeding stock” according to the AKC Beginner's Guide to Dog Shows.
